FAU easily routs NAIA opponent Warner 83-50

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) Greg Gantt scored 19 points and Florida Atlantic played stifling defense, defeating NAIA opponent Warner 83-50 Sunday in a nonconference matchup.

Stefan Moody added 18 points, Pablo Bertone had 13 and Dragan Sekelja pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for FAU (5-4), which held the Warner (6-5) to just 26.7 percent (16 of 60) shooting from the field, the lowest field goal percentage of any Owls opponent this season.

The game was close until the midway point of the first half, when FAU went on a 36-9 run over the course of 12 minutes. Gantt, who capped the spurt with a 3-pointer, had 15 points during the run and Moody added eight.

At one point during the scoring spree, the Owls got 11 unanswered points.

Mark St. Fort was Warner's leading scorer with eight points.

FAU outrebounded Warner 49-31 and outscored the Royals 24-16 in the paint.
