Smith bloodied, but fine after getting spiked on non-injured leg

Alex Smith suffered one of the most horrific leg injuries in NFL history two years ago, and understandably, many fans worry about the quarterback when he's back on the field this season.

On Thursday night there was a moment that looked terrible for Smith when television cameras showed his leg gushing blood. It's important to note this was Smith's left leg, not his surgically repaired right leg, and Smith seemed totally fine on the sideline.

It appears the cut came from an inadvertent cleat spike from center Chase Roullier.

Trainers tended to Smith on the sideline and he went back on the field after the cut like there was nothing wrong.
