Chase Young leads all defensive ends in NFC in Pro Bowl voting

Football Team

With 128,042 votes, Chase Young leads all NFC defensive ends in Pro Bowl voting after Week 15 of the NFL season.

The rookie pass rusher out of Ohio State has had a tremendous impact on Washington's fifth-ranked defense, and the fans have rewarded him. Even though this season's Pro Bowl will be virtually played on Madden, it's still an honor to be recognized for your performances.

That's especially the case when it's your first season in the NFL.

Only one defensive end, Cleveland's Myles Garrett, has received more votes than Young so far. With 11 sacks to his name, Garrett has made the Browns' defensive front seven a force to be reckoned, the same way Young has for Washington.

While Young hasn't put up the gaudy statistics of some of his peers (he has 5.5 sacks), he has proven to be a menace for opposing offensive lines. Whether it's doing the little things like making sure he gets his hand up in the passing lanes or drawing double and triple-teams, the former Buckeye has shown Washington was smart not to overthink the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.

Ahead of notable DE names like Saints' Trey Hendrickson, Giants' Leonard Williams, Detroit's Romeo Okwara, and Baltimore's Yannick Ngakoue, Young has already established himself among the NFL's elite at his position.
