For more than two decades, Washington Football Team owner Dan Snyder and his wife Tanya have attended every game their franchise has played.
That 21-year streak will end in Arizona, the team announced earlier Sunday afternoon.
The Snyders both tested negative for COVID-19, but after coming into contact with an individual who tested positive, they and the team doctors decided it would be safest for them not to attend Washington's Week 2 game in Arizona.
It's yet another sign of how abnormal the 2020 season is. Thankfully, it's also another sign of how seriously the team is taking the dangers of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and their caution in the name of safety is to be commended. Hopefully all 32 NFL franchises are taking the threat just as seriously.
