The Philadelphia Eagles have ruled out running back Miles Sanders from Sunday’s season opener against the Washington Football Team with a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.
Sanders led the Eagles in rushing attempts (179) and yards (818) last season. His carries are expected to be divvied up between fellow rushers Boston Scott and Corey Clement.
The Eagles have also ruled out wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, defensive end Derek Barnett and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave. Offensive tackle Lane Johnson is listed as questionable. On the Washington side, linebacker Thomas Davis Sr. won’t play after missing practice Thursday and Friday with a calf injury.
