Though Daniel Jones will not play for the Giants in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks, there is optimism that the second-year quarterback could be back for Week 14.
ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported that Jones was closer to playing against Seattle than some initially believed, meaning the passer could be trending in the right direction for New York's next matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Jones' exited the Giants Week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a hamstring injury in the second half. The quarterback tried to continue on in the contest but was clearly hampered by the leg injury.
Former Washington quarterback and NFL veteran Colt McCoy filled in for Jones against the Bengals and will start against the Seahawks on Sunday, hoping to keep New York in the thick of the NFC East race.
The Giants entered Week 13 tied for first place in the division with a 4-7 record.
