The Washington Football Team completed a season sweep of the rival Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, 41-16, which is always a cause for celebration. However, no celebration was better than the one head coach Ron Rivera caused after an awesome post-game speech to his football team.
Listen for yourself.
"That's how you finish a game. Not just hanging on, you want to win," Rivera said. He then went on to list one impressive stat after another from the blowout victory.
"Forty-one points against Dallas is tied for the most ever in this rivalry. Last time we scored 40+ was in the 1980s. First time sweeping Dallas in a season since 2012. We entered 1-8 against Dallas on Thanksgiving -- second ever win, and first since 2012. And just so you know, Antonio Gibson is the first rookie since Randy Moss in 1998 to score three touchdowns in a Thanksgiving game."
The team erupted and Gibson closed out the speech for Rivera by saying "that's how you play football."
Washington (4-7) now turns its focus to a matchup with the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers (10-0) on December 6.
