Tress Way's performance against the 49ers on Sunday earned him recognition as the NFC's best special teams player for Week 14.
Way was busy against San Francisco, hitting eight punts for 398 yards, averaging 49.8 yards per kick, good for second in the conference last week. His net average of 47.9 yards per kick was the best mark in the NFC for Week 14.
This is the fourth time Way has won Special Teams Player of the Week in his career and is the first player in franchise history to earn the award at least four times.
Way's win builds his case to make a second-straight Pro Bowl, something his coach Ron Rivera thinks he's deserving of. No other NFC punter has won this award twice this season.
