The Washington Football Team kicked off its Friday night of the 2021 NFL Draft by selecting Sam Cosmi in the second round with the 51st overall pick.

Cosmi, who played at the University of Texas, lined up at left tackle for the Longhorns the last two seasons and started at right tackle the year before that so he's got some major experience.

Like all prospects, Cosmi has things to clean up; ESPN's broadcast noted that he sometimes loses his balance and remarked that he could also up his aggressiveness. However, he's regarded as a proficient pass blocker, and he's got tons of size as he stands at 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds. He is also a ridiculous athlete for a man his size:

While there will be lots to sort out during training camp, Cosmi should have a real chance to be Washington's starter at left tackle for the season opener. He'll be competing with the likes of Cornelius Lucas and Geron Christian for that gig.

With Jamin Davis and now Cosmi in the fold, Ron Rivera and the Burgundy and Gold are slated to pick two more times in the third round. Then, they'll turn their attention to Saturday.
