When a road team is trying to pull off a major upset, players need to make convert big opportunities.
Jeremy Sprinkle did the opposite.
Sprinkle had the ball, then somehow, just lost it. He was laying on top of the football, then it popped out.
The early going in the Steelers/Washington tilt was pretty ugly. Lots of penalties and punts. Either team needed a spark, and a fumble recovery could have done just that for the Burgundy and Gold.
Only Sprinkle couldn't recover it.
On the Fox broadcast, analyst Darryl Johnston was asked why Washington didn't end up with the football.
"Because Jeremy Sprinkle does not know how to recover a fumble."
Accurate analysis from Johnston. Painfully accurate.
