Source: Washington Football Team aware of social media photos

The Washington Football Team is aware of pictures circulating on social media that could depict quarterback Dwayne Haskins violating NFL Covid protocols, a source told NBC Sports Washington.

Per league rules, Washington informed the NFL of the potential covid violation, but with a massive Week 16 game scheduled against the Panthers this Sunday with a possible NFC East title on the line, the team is working hard to remain focused on Carolina.

The photos emerged Monday on Twitter and appear to show Haskins at a party with exotic dancers. It appears nobody at the party is wearing masks. Other photos provide timestamps that would make the party from Sunday night, hours after Washington's 20-15 loss to Seattle.

There has been no confirmation that it's Haskins in the pictures, or when the pictures were taken.

As the covid pandemic spikes across the country, the NFL has become increasingly stringent on protocols and violations. The league reserves the right to suspend players or force a team to forfeit if an outbreak occurs. While that hasn't happened yet, a brazen violation could become the test case for the more serious rules.

Washington has not had an active player test positive for covid since the regular season began.

Haskins was fined earlier this year for violating covid protocols.

Haskins started last week's game against Seattle, his first start since he was benched after a Week 4 loss to the Ravens. On the season, Washington is 1-5 in games Haskins starts while he's completing 63 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and five interceptions.
