The Washington Football Team has released veteran cornerback Greg Stroman and tight end Nick Guggemos, the club announced on Tuesday.

Stroman, who was on the Physically Unable to Performance (PUP) list, was released with an injury settlement, according to multiple reports. Washington can bring Stroman back when he is healthy, the earliest being Week 7.

A seventh-round pick in 2018, Stroman had a solid role for Washington as a rookie. The Virginia Tech product played in 15 games that season and even started three. He finished the year with 38 tackles (31 solo), four passes defended and one interception.

However, injuries have hampered Stroman over the past two years, as he's played in just five games since his rookie campaign.

All NFL teams were required to reduce their roster to 85 players by Tuesday. Washington has now reached that number, but will likely need to make another move shortly as offensive tackle David Sharpe is set to come off the reserve/COVID-19 list soon. Sharpe has been practicing with the team but is still getting up to speed after missing over two weeks of camp.
