Washington punter Tress Way placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

Positive coronavirus cases continue to come for the Washington Football Team.

Punter Tress Way has been added to the reserve/COVID-19 list, the club announced on Thursday. Way was not at practice on Thursday with what the team diagnosed as an "illness."

Way is the second player Washington moved from its active roster to the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday, joining rookie offensive tackle Sam Cosmi -- who missed Wednesday's session with an illness as well.

Currently, Washington has three players on its coronavirus list: Way, Cosmi and cornerback Darryl Roberts. The team has three practice squad players on the list: tackle David Steinmetz, quarterback Kyle Shurmur, and guard Beau Benzschawel.

Besides Way, Washington does not have another punter on its active roster or practice squad. However, the club has two kickers on the active roster, Joey Slye and Brian Johnson. One of which will likely have to handle punting duties in Way's absence, should Washington not make another move.
