Throughout the Washington Football Team's truncated 2020 training camp, it was widely reported that quarterback Dwayne Haskins and tight end Logan Thomas had built a solid connection.
It didn't take long for the two of them to show off that connection during the team's Week 1 contest against the Eagles.
With the first half winding down and Washington desperately needing to get in the end zone, Haskins capped off a 45-yard drive following a Fabian Moreau interception with a six-yard touchdown pass to Thomas for the team's first score of the 2020 season.
The score cut Philadelphia's early 17-point lead down to 10, keeping Washington in a game that had the potential of slipping away from them quickly. The Eagles were unable to muster anything on their final possession of the first half, taking their 17-7 lead into the break.
Entering the 2020 season, tight end was widely regarded as the weakest position group on the Washington Football Team.
If Thomas can prove to be a reliable target for Haskins, Washington's offense has a lot more promise in 2020 than maybe some expected.
