Opening night in the NFL means the defending Super Bowl champion takes the field, and while Washington was a far way off from the 2019 Super Bowl, the Burgundy and Gold got some representation on Thursday night.
During the opening segment to the show while NBC played the audio from an emotional Hall of Fame speech by LaDainian Tomlinson, Washington assistant running backs coach Jennifer King was shown on-screen holding a football painted with the words "Anything is possible."
Check out the uplifting video, and King appears at the :48 mark.
King previously served as a coaching intern with the Carolina Panthers in 2018 and 2019 and worked under former Panthers coach Ron Rivera. When he got the Washington job this year, Rivera named King to a full-year coaching internship position.
"Jennifer is a bright young coach and will be a great addition to our staff," Rivera said in a statement. "Her familiarity with my expectations as a coach and my firsthand knowledge of her work ethic and preparation were big factors in bringing her to [Washington]."
