The Washington Football Team's starting defense had a good night in their second preseason game against the Bengals Friday night, and team president Jason Wright was a big fan.
While sitting in the booth with Kenny Albert and Joe Theismann, Wright saw Landon Collins lay a big hit on Thaddeus Moss and loved every bit of it.
"Look at this defense flying around right now, look at that," Wright said as Collins delivered the hit.
Collins has been a major storyline for Washington during training camp after suffering a torn Achilles last season. He was able to recover in just 7.5 months and has impressed leading up to the 2021 campaign.
The Washington defense found its identity late in the 2020 season en route to a playoff appearance, and with Collins back, it could reach greater heights in 2021.
Before getting hurt last year, Collins tallied 41 tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss and an interception. He's entering the third year of a six-year, $84 million deal he signed with Washington back in 2019.
