The Washington Spirit was initially supposed to head to Providence Park on Saturday night for a showdown against the first-place Portland Thorns.Â
However, the fixture that features two of the top six clubs in the NWSL will have to wait.Â
The Spirit announced four positive coronavirus cases within the team leading to the postponement of the fixture against the Thorns. As for when the match will occur, the NWSL plans to reveal a rescheduled date in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the Spirit's next game will be next Sunday, September 12th, against another one of the better clubs in the league as they host the OL Reign at Audi Field.
