Local 5-star Tristan Leigh presented All-American Bowl jersey

Washington

Robinson offensive tackle Tristan Leigh was presented with his All-American Bowl jersey in a ceremony held Sunday in Fairfax, Va.

Leigh, a consensus 5-star recruit who earned his invite to the bowl by winning MVP honors at the 2020 National Combine, said he’s been working towards this moment since he was a child.

“I’ve been watching this game since I was five. I’ve been watching it, I’ve been dreaming it, chasing it. I think about it when I lift and train,” Leigh said. “I’ve gone through it (this day) in my head a hundred times. Walking through the moment, putting the jersey on, so it means everything.

“As I was putting the jersey on, I was thinking about where I started and where I can end up so long as I keep working and don’t get complacent.”

In accordance with COVID-19 protocol, the jersey presentation was held outside, in front of the entrance to Robinson Secondary School. Nearly one hundred of Leigh’s friends, family, coaches and teammates joined him for the occasion. The senior shares a strong bond with his inner circle and credits them with a portion of his success.

“I couldn’t do what I’ve done and make it here if it wasn’t for them,” Leigh said. “I don’t know what I’d do without them. I just want to make everybody proud that believes in me.”

The All-American Bowl is a high school football all-star game held annually at the Alamodome in San AntonioTexas. Showcasing 100 of the top senior student athletes, the All-American Bowl is played between all-star teams representing the eastern and western United States.
