In The Loop: Mancini wows at HR Derby, Bolts party with Cup

First up in our look around the sports world, Trey Mancini made it to the finals of the Home Run Derby. He put up an impressive 22 home runs in the final, but fell short to the defending champion, Pete Alonso.

Mancini was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer a year ago, missed all the 2020 season, and now he’s back on the field and an inspiration to so many.

Next up, Atlanta Braves All-Star Freddie Freeman brought his oldest son, Charlie, down on the field with him to watch the Home Run Derby.

Charlie was dying to meet Fernando Tatis Jr. all day and it finally happened. Watch the sequence of events unfold in the video below.

Finally, the Tampa Bay Lightning hosted their second boat parade in 10 months as the team won back to back Stanley Cups.

A little rain came in late in the celebration, but it didn’t stop the party! What a year it’s been for Tampa Bay sports.
