Louisiana-Lafayette beats Louisiana-Monroe 40-24

MONROE, La. (AP) Terrance Broadway threw four touchdown passes and ran for another as Louisiana-Lafayette spoiled Louisiana-Monroe's bid for a perfect Sun Belt Conference record in a 40-24 win Saturday.

The Ragin' Cajuns (5-3, 3-2) climbed back from a 10-7 deficit with consecutive touchdown passes by Broadway. The first was a 52-yard pass to Jamal Robinson and the latter was a 23-yarder to Harry Peoples that put Louisiana-Lafayette up 21-10.

Louisiana-Monroe's Cody Wells responded by hitting Je'Ron Hamm for a 19-yard TD with 48 seconds left before the half, but the Warhawks (6-3, 4-1) got no closer as Broadway stretched the lead to 28-17 with an 8-yard TD run midway through the third quarter.

Broadway finished 23-of-32 passing for 373 yards and ran 14 times for 87 yards.

The loss drops Louisiana-Monroe into a tie with Middle Tennessee for first place in the Sun Belt.

Ravens cancel Saturday's open practice at M&T Bank Stadium

The Baltimore Ravens cancelled Saturday night's free open practice at M&T Bank Stadium due to a forecast that calls for heavy rain and inclement weather.

There is no official word from the team on whether this practice will be resheduled, but it seems like Sunday may be an option, even though there's rain in the forecast then too.

Ravens fans who were looking to see first-round draft pick and potential future starting quarterback Lamar Jackson will have to wait for another day. His presence at training camp, an inevitable competition with the incumbent, Joe Flacco, and potential two-quarterback packages involving both of them are set to be some of the biggest storylines of Ravens camp this summer.

As a Heisman Trophy winner, Jackson was one of the most dynamic players in college football during his time at Louisville. If he can replicate that kind of performance in the NFL, he will be at plenty more training camp sessions for Ravens fans to watch.

Saturday's Nationals game rained out, to be postponed

Following a dicey matchup between the Nats and Braves Friday night which featured a heated argument between Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg, the Nationals are getting a much-needed opportunity to regroup.

The Washington Nationals' official Twitter account announced that Saturday evening's matchup will be postponed due to inclement weather just after 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The Nationals had planned to host "JMU Night" at the ballpark as a part of their "College Day" series, and due to more forecasted inclement weather Sunday, the Nationals decided to call the game off sooner rather than later.

The Nationals have yet to announce when the game will be made up.

If Sunday's game is played as scheduled, Max Scherzer will start.

This post will be updated when more information regarding a makeup date has been announced.
