- Head coach Randy Edsall says he likes what he saw from Caleb Rowe, now with nearly a full week of first-team reps under his belt in practice.
“I thought he prepared well this week and I’m looking forward to watching him play and continue to do well,” he said. “But, overall, I thought he had a good week.”
- Edsall said offensive linemen Damian Prince and Derwin Gray are “coming along” and “getting better” as they both get up to full speed after injuries.
Prince was “nicked up” toward the end of training camp and Gray has been out since the spring after undergoing surgery to repair a labrum tear.
“I thought Damian had a good week of practice, saw Derwin getting better,” Edsall said. “If we think that they’re ready to go in and play and everything else, they’ll have that opportunity.
- South Florida runs the spread offense, but it’s not quite as fast as the scheme Bowling Green put on the field last week. The new challenge will be quarterback Quinton Flowers, who is the first dual-threat quarterback Maryland has faced this season.
- Tight end Andrew Isaacs continues to participate in individual contact drills, but is not cleared for full contact yet. He has been out since dislocating his knee last year against Syracuse.
