Former Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs is one of six players listed as inactive for Minnesota's season opener against San Francisco on Monday night, the team announced via Twitter.
A report from Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune pregame did not make note of any injury concern for the rookie, saying instead that there were "no major surprises" among the inactives.
Minnesota has six wide receivers on its roster. Diggs is the only one of those players who is inactive on Monday night.
Diggs was most impressive on special teams for the Vikings during the preseason, especially in the punt return game. He nearly brought a punt back for a touchdown in his preseason debut against Pittsburgh, but was tripped up just short of the goal line, settling for a non-scoring 62-yard return instead.
Diggs was selected in the fifth round by the Vikings in 2015 after playing three seasons collegiately at Maryland.
