We knew another Georgetown vs. Maryland was coming. Now we know when.
The Hoyas and Terps will meet as part of the Gavitt Games for a second straight season in a series of matchups pitting Big East against Big Ten programs.

The mid-November/Tuesday night matchup at Verizon Center comes after Maryland's 75-71 win at Xfinity Center nearly one year prior in the first game held locally between the programs since 1993.
Both teams will look different and perhaps dramatically so. The Hoyas lost leading scorer D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera and, at least for now, center Bradley Hayes to graduation from last season's 15-18 squad. They added graduate transfer Rodney Pryor, JUCO guard Jonathan Mulmore and incoming freshman guard Jagan Mosely.
Maryland won 27 games last season, though the campaign ended with a thud thanks to a decisive NCAA Tournament loss to Kansas. Frontcourt standouts Jake Layman, Diamond Stone and Robert Carter are gone. If point guard Melo Trimble follows them into the NBA Draft, both teams will start of the season with plenty of questions. With Trimble, Maryland should contend for a Big Ten title with heralded incoming freshman Anthony Cowan expected to contribute.
Other Big East-Big Ten matchups include national champion Villanova at Purdue, Wisconsin at Creighton, Providence at Ohio State and St. John's at Minnesota.
