Juan Soto scratched from Nats’ lineup with ‘left elbow soreness’

The Nationals scratched leftfielder Juan Soto from their lineup for their first of two games against the Atlanta Braves on Friday, citing “left elbow soreness.”

Soto’s absence will put Washington down two outfielders after Adam Eaton jammed his knee into first base while attempting to run out a sacrifice bunt. Eaton is listed as day-to-day.

No update has been given on Soto’s status for the second game of Friday’s doubleheader.
