Less than five hours before first pitch against the New York Yankees for Opening Night, the Nationals released their 30-man roster that they plan to open the season with. One significant name was left off: Juan Soto, who found out he tested positive for the coronavirus early Thursday morning.

“We put Juan Soto on the COVID IL today,” general manager Mike Rizzo said in a Zoom press conference Thursday. “He’s asymptomatic, he’s following all Major League protocol and, as you know, he’s been tested multiple times throughout the spring training and intake season and he’s tested negative on all those occasions. So we will proceed when he has two negative tests and then we hopefully get him back on the field.”

The Nationals will enter the season with three players on the injured list in Soto and relievers Wander Suero and Roenis Elías. Their full roster is listed below.

Pitchers: Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, Patrick Corbin, Aníbal Sánchez, Austin Voth, Erick Fedde, Sean Doolittle, Will Harris, Daniel Hudson, Tanner Rainey, James Bourque, Kyle Finnegan, Ryne Harper, Same Freeman, Javy Guerra

Catchers: Yan Gomes, Kurt Suzuki, Raudy Read

Infielders: Howie Kendrick, Eric Thames, Starlin Castro, Trea Turner, Asdrúbal Cabrera, Carter Kieboom, Wilmer Difo
