A tarp made it onto the field, but the Nationals-Braves game was postponed Wednesday night because of inclement weather in Atlanta.
The game will be made up Friday, Sept. 4 as a traditional doubleheader. Those games will be seven innings each in Atlanta.
The Nationals are 9-12 after splitting two games with the Braves to start the week. They are off Thursday before opening a four-game home series against the Miami Marlins. Part of that series includes a makeup game against the Marlins from a series July 31-Aug. 2 which was postponed because of a coronavirus outbreak within the Miami organization.
Davey Martinez said he hopes Howie Kendrick (tight hamstrings) is ready to play Friday. Kendrick has not played since Aug. 14. Erick Fedde was scheduled to pitch Wednesday. He may be bumped to Friday or skipped in the rotation.
