The Nationals’ opening homestand will be extended two games while the Toronto Blue Jays prepare their new home stadium.

The Blue Jays were scheduled to be in Washington for a two-game series July 27 and 28. The Nationals were supposed to go to Toronto on July 29 and 30. Those games will now be in Nationals Park.

The Nationals first road trip will be July 31 to Miami. Which means the Nationals will play 12 of their first 15 games at home.

Washington was off Friday. Game 2 of the 60-game season is Saturday night against New York. Stephen Strasburg and James Paxton will pitch.
