It is looking more and more likely that Victor Robles will be making his return to the big leagues.
The Washington Nationals are expected to recall the Dominican-born outfielder as soon as Tuesday.
The team's No. 1 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, was expected to have a role in 2018 before hyperextending his left elbow early on in the season for Triple-A Syracuse. The injury led to a three-month recovery process for the 21-year-old.
Since returning to the Chiefs' lineup July 7, Robles is hitting .273/.352/.377 with two homers and 10 RBIs in 39 games. He's also proven to be a threat on the bases stealing 14 safely.
In September 2017, Robles hit .250/.308/.458 with two triples in 13 games for the Nats.
Washington trails the first-place Braves by 8.5 games in the NL East and are 4-6 over their last 10.
