This time, the Philadelphia Phillies were the victims.
Victor Robles is building a case for his first career Gold Glove in 2020, building out a highlight reel that has seen many opponents robbed of extra-base hits. His latest web gem came Tuesday, when he tracked down an Alec Bohm flyball at the warning track before turning around and firing a frozen rope to double off Jean Segura at first base.
It was the fourth double play Robles has turned in his young career. The 23-year-old was a Gold Glove finalist in 2019, losing out to the Milwaukee Brewers’ Lorenzo Cain.
Robles is doing his best to ensure that glove ends up in D.C. this offseason.
