When is MLB Opening Day 2022?

After a 99-day lockout, MLB Opening Day is rapidly approaching. 

As teams quickly shape their rosters during the final wave of free agency and get their players as many reps as possible in an abbreviated spring training, fans can start to get excited to watch the first matchups of the regular season

With the 2022 MLB season just around the corner, here's everything you need to know about when it starts.

When is MLB Opening Day?

Opening Day is set for Thursday, April 7.

Who is playing on Opening Day?

18 of 30 teams will play on April 7 while the remaining 12 clubs will play their first games on Friday, April 8. Locally, the Nationals will play on April 7 against the Mets, while the Orioles will begin their season a day later on the road against the Rays.

Opening Day National TV Schedule

Major League Baseball has yet to schedule nationally televised games for Opening Day following the delayed start to the regulard season. 

All non-nationally televised games will be broadcast on local regional networks and can be streamed on MLB.TV.
