George Mason pauses team activities, cancels game vs. Maryland

The George Mason men's basketball program has paused team activities after a positive COVID-19 test was reported within the program, the team announced on Wednesday.

As a result, George Mason's game against the Maryland Terrapins, scheduled for Friday, December 4, has been canceled.

The team is currently following all procedures in place and will resume activity once it clears all protocols. George Mason's next game is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, against Morgan State.

As for Maryland, the Terps will play on Friday against a different opponent. The program announced on Wednesday that it will take on Saint Peter's at 3 p.m.

That schedule change helps Maryland avoid missing a second consecutive game due to the opponent dealing with a positive COVID-19 test.

The Terps Tuesday game against Towson was canceled after Towson reported a positive coronavirus test. That game was a fill-in for Maryland's matchup against Monmouth, also canceled due to COVID-19.
