After a spectacular regular season and Big Ten conference tournament, the Maryland Terrapins women's basketball team is gearing up at a run for one final trophy in the NCAA Tournament.

For the Terps, that all begins Monday as the No. 2 seed in the Hemisfair Region takes on the No. 15 seed Mount St. Mary's.

Maryland is coming off a dominant 2020-21 campaign to this point, compiling a 24-2 record with a 17-1 win-loss record in Big Ten conference play. That was good enough for the Terps to claim the regular-season title and the conference tournament championship. The postseason Big Ten title was the program's fifth in seven seasons.

Head coach Brenda Frese's squad is led by an electric offense averaging over 90 points per game and shooting nearly 50% from the field. Sophomore guards Ashley Owusu and Diamond Miller have been the catalysts, scoring 18.3 and 17.2 points per game, respectively

As a whole, Maryland has six players averaging double-digit points. That's a balanced attack.

Their opponent will be the NEC tournament champs and an in-state competitor in Mount St. Mary's. Despite the seeding, the team shouldn't be overlooked. With four players averaging more than 10 points per game, Maryland's defense will have its hands full.

The run to a potential Final Four starts now for the Terps. Here's how to watch.
