Get ready for a couple Terps-Cavaliers matchups in the years to come.

Maryland football scheduled a two-game series with Virginia in 2023 and 2024, the school announced Thursday.

Both games likely will take place before the teams opening their respective conference play, with the Terps hosting the first game of the series on Sept. 16, 2023 and traveling to Charlottesville, Virginia the following year for a game on Sept. 14, 2024.

Although the games are a few years into the future — with the youngest possible players on the rosters currently not yet teenagers — these two teams are not strangers. Historically, Virginia is the Terps’ most frequent opponent, facing off 78 times with Maryland leading the series, 44-32-2.

The Terps also won the teams’ most recent matchup in 2013 in College Park, but they haven’t played since Maryland moved to the Big Ten.
