Report: Richt chooses Miami after interviewing at UVa.

Former Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt has found his new team in the Miami Hurricanes, according to a report from ESPN. Richt, 55, is an alum of Miami, having played there as a backup quarterback from 1979 to 1982.

Richt is a two-time SEC coach of the year, but was dismissed by Georgia after going 9-3 in the 2015 season. His total coaching record is 145-51 in 15 seasons, all in Athens with the Bulldogs.

Richt was linked to both the Maryland Terrapins job and the Virginia Cavaliers opening before landing in Miami. He now takes over a Hurricanes team with a decorated history, but a 6-7 record under Al Golden in 2015.

The best sports bars in Washington D.C. for SEC football

College football is fast approaching, and it's important to establish your gameday spot — and a seat at the bar — early. At NBC Sports Washington, we've compiled the best bars and restaurants to watch the Capitals' rock the red, the beautiful game, and where to hit March-October around Nationals Park and Camden Yards too. For now, here's to looking at you, SEC!

The University of Alabama

  • Willie's Brew and Que: 300 Tingey Street SE

Willie's has hosted many official Alabama Alumni events with the D.C. chapter and is just steps from Nats Park for those looking to have the sportiest day possible and catch some baseball as well. Willie's has recently found themselves under new management, but retain an Alabama Slammer on their drinks menu. Cheers!

  • Union Pub: 201 Massachusetts Avenue NE

Union Pub claims official Crimson Tide HQ for all 'Bama fans far from home. All weekend long, UP rocks $12-15 beer bucket deals, perfect for overtime.

The University of Georgia

  • Public Bar Live: 1214 18th Street NW

Dawgs fans LOVE Public Bar in Dupont. They were temporarily closed and added a live music venue to their space, but will still serve as home to everything UGA in the District.

Auburn University

  • Johnny Pistolas: 2333 18th Street NW

Johnny P's in the heart of Adams Morgan is officially listed on the Auburn Alumni Association's website as their game watch location inside D.C. proper. With an extensive taco and brunch menu, Tigers gameday eats are guaranteed to be amazing.

The University of Florida

  • Lou's City Bar: 1400 Irving Street NW

With 24 beers on tap, 23 flat screens and a huge projector, you won't miss a single Gator down at Lou's. For the DC Gator Club, they run happy hour deals all game long.

Louisiana State University

  • Rhodeside Grill: 1836 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA

Unfortunately, you won't find much organized "Geaux" chants in the District, but if you hop just outside, the official LSU Alumni DC chapter will welcome you. They enthusiastically throw events for many Tigers sporting events and host a rowdy crowd at Rhodeside.

University of Mississippi

  • Penn Quarter Sports Tavern: 639 Indiana Avenue NW

Most commonly called home by Capitals fans, the DC Ole Miss Alumni Association throws down at PQST on game days. Be sure to take advantage of their great brunch deals from 11 a.m. - 2 pm. before kickoff!

University of Tennessee

  • Blackfinn Ameripub: 16120 I St. NW

There are only a handful of official Vols gathering places outside Tennessee, but luckily, Blackfinn has you covered in the District. Orange and White gamedays would be incomplete without bottomless mimosas (consider them made of Orange and White) until 3 p.m.

University of Kentucky

  • Town Tavern: 2323 18th Street NW

A nightlife staple in Adams Morgan, Town Tavern offers Big Blue Nation, as well as members of the DC UK Alumni group, gameday specials like $4 Bud and Bud Light bottles, $7 burger baskets and $14 Bud Light pitchers.
