Starting Terps QB Taulia Tagovailoa to miss game after COVID-19 tests

Transfer quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has enjoyed a terrific sophomore campaign in College Park this season, but he won't get the chance to start every game.

He, along with three other players and two coaches, will miss Saturday's game against Rutgers as a result of positive COVID-19 tests.

Officially, they are missing the game for "medical reasons" but it's been reported that this is a direct result of coronavirus test results.

It's a shame for Maryland on Senior Day as they entered the day favorites to beat Rutgers. Lance LeGendre will take over at quarterback for the Terps, and there is a lot of hope surrounding the former four-star recruit. But Tagovailoa has been a major difference-maker at the position, and it will hurt not to have him in the backfield.

Maryland and Rutgers are still scheduled to kick off at noon on Saturday.
