Paul Chryst took some heat after Wisconsin’s season opener for wearing his face mask improperly while on the sidelines. Cameras caught him addressing players and coaches several times during the Badgers’ 45-7 win over Illinois with his mask either pulled down or failing to cover his nose.
After the team missed two games due to a coronavirus outbreak that saw 16 players and 12 staff members including Chryst himself test positive, Wisconsin finally resumed its season Saturday on the road against Michigan. This time, Chryst made sure his mask stayed put by taping the top of it to his face.
Chryst told reporters in October that his mask had been causing his glasses to fog up, so it appears he was willing to throw looks aside in order to ensure full functionality.
It must have worked, too. The Badgers jumped out to a 28-0 lead that they carried into halftime.
