Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente was named ACC Coach of the Year by the Atlantic Coast Conference Sports Media Association on Tuesday. Fuente has the Hokies in the ACC Championship game after leading the team to a 9-3 regular season record. It's the school's first appearance in the conference title game since 2011.

In his first season after taking over for Frank Beamer, Fuente has already tied the school record for most wins in a coach's first season in school history.

Fuente beat out Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney by 15 votes to take home the award.

Virginia Tech will take on Clemson in the ACC Championship game in Orlando on Saturday night.
