Dylan Bundy has found a fresh start in Los Angeles.
Bundy, who was traded from the Orioles to the Angels on Dec. 4, 2019, for four prospects, has put together three outstanding starts so far this season, the best of which came Thursday afternoon.
Against the Mariners, he threw a complete game, 10 strikeouts, no walk performance in a 6-1 Angels win. It was his first complete game since 2018 and just the third of his career.
This season, Bundy has a 2.08 ERA. His best mark as an Oriole was a 4.27 ERA in 2016.
Bundy, 27, was once a heralded prospect in the Orioles’ farm system and an arm the team was set to build around as the fourth overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft. But injuries at the outset of his career paired with inconsistency when he reached the majors was enough for the rebuilding Orioles to send him out of town for some younger arms.
Bundy, if he’s able to turn it around for good, would be the latest young arm in the organization to be traded away and find a career resurgence on his new team.
