Orioles-Phillies briefly stopped after sprinklers pop open in outfield

Orioles

The Orioles hit another weird, on-field snag Thursday night in Philadelphia.

For a few moments, the game between the Orioles and Phillies was delayed as sprinklers rose up from the outfield grass, creating holes in a few spots.

After a rain delay made the game start about an hour and 40 minutes after its scheduled start time, they hit another delay in the second inning.

The sprinkler delay came just a few days after a tarp malfunction caused the suspension of a game between the Nationals and Orioles on Sunday.

2020, for all of its changes, added one more on Thursday.
