Dylan Bundy's record fell to 1-5 Saturday as the 26-year old gave up three runs in five innings of work. Bundy allowed two more home runs in the loss, bringing his season total up to 11 after he gave up an MLB-high 41 homers in 2018.
Dwight Smith Jr. drove in both of Baltimore's runs on a two-run shot in the first inning. The 26-year old outfielder is now hitting .280 on the season after a 2-for-5 day at the plate Saturday.
The Orioles gave Renato Nunez the day off Saturday as he struggles to get out of a slump. Nunez has collected just four hits in his last 48 at-bats.
After a brief stint in the minors, RHP Jimmy Yacabonis was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk Saturday. To make room on the roster, Baltimore optioned RHP Evan Phillips to Norfolk.
Albert Pujols went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored Saturday, taking Bundy deep in the first and fourth innings. Shohei Ohtani also chipped in with two hits and a run batted in.
Luke Bard got the win for the Angels after tossing 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Matt Harvey. Harvey pitched four innings of two-run ball before he was pulled. Hansel Robles set the Orioles down in order in the ninth to close out the win.
