RHP Josh Rogers is currently undergoing a second opinion after being diagnosed with a strained UCL in his left elbow. If the first diagnosis is correct, Rogers could miss over a year. He was placed on the injured list on Wednesday with a sprained left elbow, but it is feared that the injury could be worse.
RHP Matt Wotherspoon has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. The move makes room for John Means, who is expected to return from the injured list on Friday to start against the Indians. Wotherspoon appeared in just two games and has a 15.43 ERA with a 2.57 WHIP over just 4 2/3 innings.
