One of the lasting images of the Olympics has been Michael Phelps' death glare. Now that image will live on forever...on one fan's leg.
Ricky Fung had been thinking about starting a tattoo sleeve of famous athletes, according to a story on ESPN, and was so inspired by Phelps' victory that he decided to immortalize the Olympic legend.
Getting the tattoo itself was easy for Fung since he owns a tattoo parlor (in Toronto ironically).
On Monday, video began circulating of Phelps giving his best Grumpy Cat impression as he waited to race in the 200-meter butterfly. Rival Chad le Clos of South Africa, who beat Phelps in the race in the 2012 Olympics, was pacing and shadowboxing in front of Phelps. Phelps said he wasn't paying attention, but considering he doesn't naturally look like he wants to eat your soul, I'm willing to bet le Clos probably had something to do with it.
It was that look that inspired Fung, presumably because he wants to terrify small children.
