It has been 25 years since a team from Virginia has played in the Little League World Series and the wait will extend for one more day. The Loudoun South Little League team’s first game of the tournament was postponed from Thursday to 10 a.m. on Friday due to weather.
Loudoun South reached the LLWS as the Southeast regional champions and was scheduled to play the New England champions from Rhode Island on Thursday. The game was set for 3 p.m. but lightning in the area delayed the start of the game. With no end to the rain in sight as of 6 p.m., the game was officially postponed.
The rain will mean a busy day on Friday as only one of the games scheduled for Thursday was able to be played. Friday’s slate of games now includes seven games starting with Loudon’s game at 10 a.m.
The LLWS is a double-elimination tournament. Should Loudoun win Friday’s game, they will play their second game Sunday at 11 a.m.. A loss on Friday will mean they will play to remain in the tournament on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Here's to all of my fellow Cinnamon Toast Crunch fans out there.
I took the gold medal away from Nick, who had won the past two lists, for the last one with my cereal pick. Who doesn’t love a cereal that’s full of cinnamon and goes perfectly with milk?
Cinnamon Toast Crunch was the go-to cereal for me as a kid and is even good without milk. Yes, I said cereal without milk. Nick and Wes didn’t agree, but sometimes cereal is better dry. The best thing about Cinnamon Toast Crunch is it’s good either way!
Now I want to keep this winning streak alive. Our next topic on “The List” is best pizza toppings.
I’m from Southern California, so I grew up loving barbeque chicken pizza with pineapple. Yes, pineapple does belong on pizza!! Alex Ovechkin even agrees that the fruit BELONGS on pizza.
Don’t go against me or Ovi on this one. Go barbeque chicken pizza WITH pineapple.
