Baltimore Ravens Roundup: Haloti Ngata to retire as a Raven

1. Haloti Ngata is officially retiring from the NFL as a Baltimore Raven today during a press conference. Ngata had a phenomenal career, playing 13 seasons and was a five-time Pro Bowler. The ceremony will be broadcast on the Ravens' official website at 3 p.m. today.

2. Free agent Gerald McCoy visited the Ravens yesterday. Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network discussed McCoy's visit yesterday, saying the Ravens aren't the only team McCoy has his eyes on. Last week, McCoy visited the Cleveland Browns and according to Garafolo, the Cinncinati Bengals are also interested.

Baltimore Ravens Roundup: Sports Illustrated predicts Ravens defense will regress this season

With training camp just eight days away, here is the latest news surrounding the Baltimore Ravens.

1. The Ravens are expected to have one of the best defenses in the NFL this season, but not the No. 1 ranked. Sports Illustrated's Andy Benoit says he predicts the Ravens defense will actually regress due to the loss of C.J. Mosely and Terrell Suggs in free agency. However, not as much as one would expect, he says.

2. Speaking of defense, Ravens outside linebacker Matthew Judon is entering his contract year. The Athletics' Jeff Zrebiec writes that this upcoming season should be a breakout year for Judon who could make a big impact on defense.

Baltimore Ravens Roundup: Lamar Jackson organizes private workout with receivers

With training camp just nine days away, here is the latest news surrounding the Baltimore Ravens.

1. Quarterback Lamar Jackson organized an off-site work out with Ravens wide receivers Chris Moore and Willie Snead IV over the weekend. The second-year quarterback followed through with his plan of working with his receivers on his own time before training camp begins next week. Backup quarterback Robert Griffin III was present as well.

2. With the addition of six-time Pro Bowler Earl Thomasthe Ravens secondary was ranked the deepest group in the NFL, according to NFL.com's Chris Wesseling. Pairing Thomas with safety Tony Jefferson creates one of the best safety tandems in the league, and Baltimore has a deep group of cornerbacks in Jimmy Smith, Marlon Humphrey, Brandon Carr, and Tavon Young. The Ravens defense allowed just 17.9 points per game a season ago, which was the second-best mark in the NFL.
