Ufomba Kamalu, a former defensive lineman for the Ravens, was released Wednesday by the team shortly before his arrest on a warrant for a domestic violence charge. Kamalu was arrested Thursday.

According to officials, police were called to the 1700 block of Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, Maryland early Wednesday morning after receiving a call for domestic assault. The victim suffered from a visible injury, Baltimore County police said.

The incident occurred when an argument between the victim and Kamalu turned physical. Kamalu then assaulted the woman. He was not present at the time officers arrived on scene.

He was released on a $20,00 bond and the incident remains under investigation by police.

Kamalu, 27, was signed to the Ravens’ roster on Oct. 25. He was later waived in mid-November and spent the season on the team’s practice squad. He never appeared in a game for the team.
