It appears that the Ravens have seen enough from Lamar Jackson this preseason, as their second-year quarterback will remain sidelined until Baltimore faces Miami in Week 1 of the regular season.
Jackson was not in uniform during warmups for Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles. The Ravens fourth and final preseason game will take place next Thursday, and if past seasons are any indication, very few starters on both sides of the ball will play for either squad.
Only two Ravens quarterbacks are in full uniform on the field: Trace McSorley and Joe Callahan.— Andrew Gillis (@Andrew_Gillis70) August 22, 2019
In two preseason games, Jackson impressed. He finished a combined 10-of-16 for 117 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Additionally, he carried the ball twice for 14 yards, not including an impressive touchdown run that was called back due to penalty.
With Jackson not in uniform and backup Robert Griffin III still out with a broken thumb, it will be rookie Trace McSorley and Joe Callahan at the helm for the next two contests. These two games could be vital in terms of who will be the backup QB until Griffin returns, should RGIII not be ready for Week 1.
