Ronnie Stanley out for season with ‘severe’ ankle injury

The Ravens lost on the scoreboard, but in terms of the entire season, their biggest loss was when All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley was carted off the field with an air cast over his left ankle.

Coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Stanley will miss the remainder of the season with a “severe” left ankle injury. Stanley was replaced in the first quarter by right tackle Orlando Brown Jr., who kicked over from the right side to the left side.

“He’ll be out for the season with a severe ankle injury,” Harbaugh said. “Don’t have any information on any of the other injuries.”

Right tackle D.J. Fluker replaced Brown on the right side as the Ravens fell down to just six offensive linemen after guard Tyre Phillips was injured during the game as well.

Stanley recently signed a five-year contract extension to stay in Baltimore through the 2025 season but now will have to sit until the start of the 2021 season.

“That’s somebody that’s helped me throughout my career,” Brown said. “Losing someone like that, a leader like that to this team, it’s hard to put into words.”
