While the likes of Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram and Matthew Judon have been big factors in the Ravens' success in 2019, the underlying proponent has been the solid play of fullback and defensive lineman Pat Ricard. His ability to create holes on offense and plug them up on defense has helped Baltimore exceed on both sides of the football.
On Tuesday, the Ravens rewarded his play and made sure that there'll be more of it in the years to come, extending him through the 2021 season.
With a touchdown and a sack in 2019, Ricard has become a unique weapon that the Ravens can use when needed. He's also become a favorite of both his teammates and the fans in Baltimore, earning the nickname "Project Pat".
Now, he'll have a chance to boost his reputation even more in the coming years, as Baltimore will have him for at least the next two seasons. In what's been an exciting few months of football, Ricard has been one of the many good stories to come out of Baltimore.
