After positive coronavirus tests put the Thanksgiving rivalry game into jeopardy as the Ravens were forced into temporarily shutting down their facility last Monday, the much-anticipated rivalry game in Pittsburgh was moved from Thursday to Sunday. As positive tests continued to come in, the game was pushed back again, this time to Tuesday. After even more positive tests, the game was postponed once more, this time to a rare Wednesday afternoon kickoff time.
While Steelers players were very upset with that designation, the league made the decision with the health and safety of players in mind. Even with the delay, Baltimore will still be without key players due to the outbreak within the organization including running backs Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins and reigning MVP Lamar Jackson. Other players have been added to the reserve/COVID-19 list in recent days as well.
Yet come Tuesday, football will be played. No matter who is out there for Baltimore, it will be a crucial game. Coming off two straight losses and matched up with the undefeated division winner, the Ravens must turn the tide on their season.
To ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, the matchup will be an opportunity for Baltimore to reveal what their identity is for the 2020 season. Coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss to Derrick Henry's Titans on Sunday, it'll be a must-win game at Heinz Field.
Can Baltimore's offense bring a level of explosiveness that has been lacking in recent weeks and show it didn't need another wide receiver like Antonio Brown on the roster? Can Pittsburgh play with a level of perfection and live up to their record?
It may no longer be on Thanksgiving, but it's still an important game. Here's how to watch:
