Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Bud Dupree is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.
Dupree was injured during Pittsburgh's Week 12 battle with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday afternoon. He will not be available for the Steelers' game Monday against the Washington Football Team.
It's a major loss for the defensive unit. Dupree has emerged as a key part of the Steelers' success in 2020. Before the injury, the pass rusher had picked up eight sacks on the season and was on pace to potentially top his career-best mark of 11.5 sacks from last season.
Following the season, Pittsburgh will have an interesting decision to make regarding Dupree. The option to franchise tag the sixth-year pro is on the table, but he can also become a free agent if the Steelers opt to not use the tag.
